Social Responsibility The Namutoni Hai//om Trust was established in 2008 with the express purpose of developing and benefiting the Hai//om people of the Oshivelo-Namutoni area, who are directly affected by tourism development in this remote outpost. The main objectives of the Trust are to:
The trust further aims to empower the community by establishing a Conservancy over the Onguma Game Reserve, which will hopefully include a portion of the planned owned land of the Hai//om It will also be used to facilitate training and ongoing support in that regard. A waterhole below the camp’s lapa offers opportunities for sighting game and the many bird species of the area in comfort. In addition access to Etosha National Park and Fort Namutoni, Onguma offers travellers a chance to see its own 20,000 ha private reserve stocked with predators such as lions, cheetahs and leopards as well as a family of black rhino. Onguma Bush Camp’s accommodation consists of 3 en-suite air-conditioned bungalows, 3 twin rooms, and 1 family room.
