Travellers staying at Onguma Tented Camp experience explorers Andersson and Galton’s wonder, and the beauty of a wild dawn, with animals at a waterhole just meters from a luxury tent.
Travellers staying at Onguma Tented Camp experience early explorers Andersson and Galton’s sense of wonder, and the luxury of dawn in the wilds, with animals at a waterhole just meters from the tent. Unlike the camps that Andersson and Galton made in the area, Onguma Tented Camp offers high levels of luxury. Yet like Andersson and Galton, Onguma Tented Camp’s guests will be spurred on to adventures and dicoveries in Etosha and Onguma’s private park. In 1851, two explorers, Francis Galton and Charles John Andersson, searching for a route to Lake Ngami, came upon a vast salt pan stretching off to the west. The local people told them it was called Etosha. As they travelled past the pan, they marvelled at the fertility of the land, and one of them, Francis Galton, allowed his mind to wander. Today, adventurous travellers staying at Onguma Tented Camp can experience Andersson and Galton’s sense of wonder, and the ultimate luxury of greeting dawn in the wilds, with animals at a waterhole just meters from the flaps of a tent. Unlike the camps that Andersson and Galton made in the area, Onguma Tented Camp offers high levels of comfort and luxury. Yet like Andersson and Galton, Onguma Tented Camp’s guests will be spurred on to adventures and discoveries in Etosha and the surrounds of Onguma’s 20,000 ha private park. |
