Social Responsibility
The Nest Hotel supports the Benguela Community Centre which provides education, child care and after-school care for disadvantaged children, as well as adult education for disadvantaged members of the community.

The Hotel follows a policy of outsourcing to members of the local and disadvantaged community, and has assisted in the establishment of local support businesses in the hospitality industry.

Environmental Responsibility
The Nest Hotel is always quick to lend a helping hand to those in need, as was seen during the April 2009 oil spill. When the 2002 MVF Meob Bay wreck started leaking oil and the African Penguins needed help, the Nest Hotel provided cleaning material, rallied support and kept everybody updated.

* Although Lüderitz lies in an arid area, rain in other parts of the country can cause rivers to flow. The onset of the flow is very rapid.
