Social Responsibility
Ecologistix, the company which owns Desert Homestead, was actively involved in the development of Grootberg Lodge, Namibia's first 100% community owned lodge. The first intake of Grootberg staff was trained at Desert Homestead. Ecologistix continues to provide management services to Grootberg Lodge.

* During the dry season, the lodge can be reached in a small 2 X 4 sedan.
* Although Desert Homestead lies in a desert, rain in other parts of the country can cause rivers to flow. The onset of the flow is very rapid.
* As a large part of the journey takes place on gravel roads, consultants should switch to an offroad vehicle during the rainy season (October to April).
