Perching on the edge of the Grootberg mountain, Grootberg Lodge has one of the finest views in Namibia, and offers a rare opportunity to look down on eagles hunting below. The alternative is a leisurely guided walk on the Grootberg Plateau. Each of the 12 chalets have their own private decks, and the main deck features a plunge pool overlooking the rim of the plateau. Grootberg Lodge is owned and staffed by the local community. Profits from the lodge are invested in community initiatives such as building schools and clinics, providing funds for education, and creating a community kitchen for the elderly and vulnerable groups. The lodge also reduces the human animal conflict, and promotes conservation. |
