Guests may have difficulty finding the lodge, so please crearly communicate the following: * On the east side of Kongola bridge, turn north into the D3502 gravel road. * Continue on the D3502 to the Susuwe road sign (approx. 10 km) * Park your vehicle in the secure parking area, guest will be collected from here for the boat transfer to Susuwe Island Lodge. The entire journey can be made with a small 2x4 vehicle. Note: If clients are driving from Mamili or Mudumu National Park please check road conditions and consider changing to a 4x4 vehicle. Susuwe Island Lodge is located on Birre Island in the Kwando River and is accessible by boat. Guests are collected from Kongola checkpoint. * Impalila Island * Katima Mulilo * Mahango Game Park * Popa Falls * Chobe National Park (Botswana) Mudumu National Park Mudumu National Park to Kongola pick-up is approx. 57 km * From Mudumu head north on the C49 to the B8 turn off (approx. 45 km) * Turn left into the B8 and drive to the D3502 turn off (approx. 2 km) * Turn right into the D3502 and drive to the Susuwe road sign (approx. 10 km) * Park your vehicle in the secure parking area, guest will be collected from here for the boat transfer to Susuwe Island Lodge. The entire route is on gravel road Note: During the rainy season check road conditions and if necessary change to a 4x4 vehicle. Katima Mulilo - direct route Katima Mulilo to Kongola pick-up is approx. 102 km * From Katima drive west on the B8 to the the D3502 turn off (approx. 92 km) * Turn right into the D3502 and drive to the Susuwe road sign (approx. 10 km) * Park your vehicle in the secure parking area, guest will be collected from here for the boat transfer to Susuwe Island Lodge. The entire route, besides the last 10 km is on tar road Katima Mulilo - scenic route Katima Mulilo to Kongola pick-up is approx. 200 km * From Katima drive west on the B8 to the C49 turn off (approx. 8 km) * Turn left into the C49 and follow it till it reaches the B8 again (approx. 180 km) * Turn left into the B8 and drive to the D3502 turn off (approx. 2 km) * Turn right into the D3502 and drive to the Susuwe road sign (approx. 10 km) * Park your vehicle in the secure parking area, guest will be collected from here for the boat transfer to Susuwe Island Lodge. The entire route is on gravel road Note: During the rainy season check road conditions and if necessary change to a 4x4 vehicle. Popa Falls Popa Falls to Kongola pick-up is approx. 261 km * From Popa Falls head north on the C48 to the B8 turn off (approx. 6 km) * Turn right into the C48 and drive to Kongola bridge (approx. 245 km) * Cross the Kongola bridge and turn left into the D3502 * Follow the D3502 to the Susuwe road sign (approx. 10 km) * Park your vehicle in the secure parking area, guest will be collected from here for the boat transfer to Susuwe Island Lodge. The only gravel road is the C48 from Popa Falls to the B8 and the last 10 km.
