Namibia Country Lodges, Opuwo Country Hotel's parent company, is currently cooperating with the Uukwaalhuudi Conservancy to develop tourism operations in the conservancy. In addition to ongoing development of facilities, Opuwo Country Hotel arranges day trips into the conservancy for its guests. Opuwo Country Hotel has also established a study fund and donating a percentage of its proceeds into the fund. The fund enables young and aspiring students the oppertunity to study Tourism * Opuwo Country Hotel can be reached in a small 2 X 4 sedan from the C41, but if clients travel further into Kaokoland a 4x4 is recommended. * Although Opuwo Country Hotel lies in an arid area, rain in other parts of the country can cause rivers to flow. Note: For tavel to Epupa Falls a 4x4 is recommended. Oshakati Oshakati to Opuwo Country Hotel is approx. 296 km * From Oshakati drive northwest on the C46 turn off (approx. 154 km) * Turn left into the C35 and continue to the C41 turn off (approx. 85 km) * Turn right into the C 41 and drive to Opuwo (approx. 56 km) * In Opuwo follow the Opuwo Country Hotel sign posts (approx. 1 km) The entire route is on tar road. Note: It is possible to drive from Oshakati to Opuwo on the C41, but before doing so enquire about the condition of the C41 past the C35 turn off. We strongly advise not to take the C41 route during rainy season.
