For thousands of years, humans have been attracted to Twyfelfontein's wonderful scenery, sheltering hills and wildlife. Twyfelfontein Country Lodge, near the magnificent Twyfelfontein rock art site, continues the welcoming tradition. The rock shelters of Twyfelfontein were once the site of an ancient settlement. Between hunts, its inhabitants left records of how they lived, in thousands of pieces of rock art. They also left images of the desert elephants which roam along the river, till today. Twyfelfontein Country Lodge, a short distance from the rock art and the river where the elephants roam, offers travellers a glimpse into this world, with day trips and shorter excursions. Adventures of a different kind can be had in the freedom of a mountain bike or short guided hikes. And at the end of the day, the lodge gives travellers a friendly 'welcome back' and a place to call home for a night or two. |
