The chance to hunt with the Ju/'hoansi, find out how they gather plants for medicine and food, and experience healing dances is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. From the moment travellers arrive, they are drawn to the village through a set of activities that bring them into close, ongoing contact with the community. These include a real hunting gathering excursion, preparation of food, learning traditional crafts, songs and dance, and the possibility of seeing the onset of a trance during one of the dances. Although there are many opportunities to interact with these legendary people, few are as authentic as the Nhoma experience. |
