Quad biking * All clients are given a pre-tour riding & safety briefing. * All clients are provided with helmets and goggles. * The difficulty level is adjusted to the experience of the client. Sandboarding * Offers lying and standing boarding, according to experience. * All clients are given a pre-tour boarding & safety briefing. * Participants in standing sandboarding are provided with a helmet. * Participants in lying sandboarding may choose whether to use helmets or not. * Dunes are selected according to the client's experience. Note * All activities are supervised for the purposes of safety and protection of the environment. * Participants are requested to pay attention to supervisors' advice, warnings and cautions. * Dare Devil Adventures has a first aid station. Dare Devil Adventures operates a fleet of about 60 quad bikes of various sizes. * For travellers with no previous quad biking experience & beginners, semi-automatic 125 CC quad bikes are available * 250 and 350 CC quad bikes are available for more experienced riders. * Children quad bikes for children over 12 years of age are available. Dare Devil Adventures provides specifically designed boards for sandboarding. * The lying boards are wider and ideal for children and people with no experience or beginners. * The standing board are narrower, are designed for more speed and are suitable for experienced sandboarders / snowboarders. * Children and less experienced boarders are taken to less challenging slopes. * Helmets are provided for the standing activities, and may be provided at no extra cost on request for the lying activity. * The standing activity includes quad bike rides to the top of dunes as these dunes are higher. * Quad bike rides to the top of the dune are an optional extra for the lying activity, as these slopes are lower and less steep. Dare Devil Adventures is commited to protecting the Namibian coastal environment by: * Only operating in the special demarcated areas for off roading to ensuring that the desert ecosystem is not harmed. * Assisting the Ministry of Environment and Tourism with issuing the free permits & stickers for off road driving in demarcated areas. * Organizing and co-operating in desert & coastal clean up projects * Taking school children into the desert for educational & environmental education, as well as clean-ups Dare Devil Adventures can be reached with a small 2x4 sedan vehicle.
Dare Devil Adventures is located opposite Langstrand / Long Beach halfway on the 30 km stretch of the B2 between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.
If Dare Devil Adventure clients require transfers from / to Swakopmund or Walvis Bay these can be organized. After receiving a helmet and goggles, the guide will do a briefing on riding a quad bike, safety rules and hand signs. The trip begins with a drive up the gentle slope just behind the offices of Dare Devil Adventures. Once on top of the dune the sand sea of the Namib Desert stretches ahead. Depending on the experience of the rider, various slopes of dunes are taken. The guide may stop along the way to point out some of the deserts smaller creatures, depending on sightings. The trip ends with a look from the top of a dune over the Atlantic Ocean, before returning to the Dare Devil Aventure offices. Duration: 45 min, 1 hour, 1.5 hour or 2 hours Experience: The excursion is tailored for people with no previous experience or more experienced riders. In the morning travellers begin the breakfast trip with a
briefing on riding
a quad bike, safety rules and hand signs. After receiving a helmet and
goggles. the trip begins with a ride up the gentle slope just behind
the offices of Dare Devil Adventures. After enjoying the trip throught
the sand sea, stop on the crest of a dune overlooking the Namib
Dunes and the Atlantic Ocean for a packed breakfast of sandwiches and fruit, weather permitting. A choice of coffee, tea, juice and or water is included. Depending on the weather and / or the choice of the group, a hot English breakfast can be served at the Dare Devil central facility, on return and in place of the packed breakfast on the dune. Book: 2 days in advance Departure times: Winter - 16h00, Summer - 17h30 Duration: 1.5 hours Experience: The excursion is tailored for people with no previous experience or more experienced riders. In the late afternoon travellers begin the sundowner trip with a briefing on riding
a quad bike, safety rules and hand signs. After receiving a helmet and goggles. the trip begins with a ride up the gentle slope just behind the offices of Dare Devil Adventures. After enjoying the trip throught the sand sea, stop on the crest of a dune overlooking the Namib Dunes and the Atlantic Ocean to enjoy the sunset. Soft drinks and a limited number of light alcoholic beverages are included. Book: 1 day in advance Departure times: Winter - 16h00, Summer - 17h30 Duration: 1.5 hours Experience: The excursion is tailored for people with no previous experience or more experienced riders. This 5 hour excursions takes travellers from Langstrand through the dunes of the Namib Desert to Dune 7, the highest dune in the coastal dune belt. The area travelled though can otherwise not be visited. At Dune 7 a packed, light lunch is served. A climb up Dune 7 not only stretches the legs, but also allows for a view over the gravel plains of the Namib Desert.

Book: 2 days in advance Minimum of 4 participants Duration: 5 hours Included: Quad bikes with helmets & goggles and packed lunch Experience: Participants require quad biking experience. This trip is not suitable for non quad bikers or beginners. This two day, one night quad bike trip takes the traveller through the sand sea of the Namib Desert to the dry Kuiseb River bed. The use of quadbikes allows travellers to see a part of the dune belt that cannot be seen with other vehicles. Participants stop for a picnic lunch at Dune 7, the highest in the dune belt between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay, before heading out onto the gravel plains. A visit to the Topnaar community gives insights into the lives and tradition of people who have lived for centuries beside the Namibian coast, mainly in the vicinity of the Kuiseb River mouth near Walvis Bay.
In fact, they are so closely associated with the sea that they were
once known as 'strandlopers', which translates to 'beach walkers'.The night is spent in simple cottages at the Aonin campsite beside the river. After breakfast the excursion returns through the dunes, via Dune 7, to Langstrand. On both the outbound and inbound legs, the same route is used to minimise environmental impact. Experience: Participants require quad biking experience. This trip is not suitable for non quad bikers or beginners. Travellers select whether they wish to use the sandboard lying down or standing up and are briefed on safety and use accordingly. Persons with snowboarding or sandboarding experience are given a board similar to that used for snowboarding, as well as a helmet. Persons who select the lying down option are given a wider, shorter board, and a helmet may be requested at no extra charge. Following the briefing, the excursion departs to a suitable slope near the Dare Devil Adventures central facility. The slope depends on the experience of the participant. Persons who select the standing option will use a steeper slope. Persons with less experience who select the lying activity will use lower dunes. 'Special' dunes are used for children. Quad bike rides to the top of dunes are included in the standing activity. For the lying activity, the quad bike ride is an optional extra, as the slopes are less steep. Duration: 1 - 1.5 hours Experience: The excursion is tailored for people with no previous experience or more experienced board users. A lamb is barbecued on a spit with soft drinks and light alcoholic beverages, as an addition for groups, after the excursion, at the central facility. The 'spit braai' is served with a starter, but no dessert. Book: minimum 2 weeks in advance

Booking Policy * The overnight quad bike excursions should be booked 2 weeks in advance. * The Dune 7 excursion should be booked 2 days in advance. * The spit braai / lamb barbecue should be booked 2 weeks in advance. * The sundowner should be booked 1 day in advance. * the breakfast should be booked 2 days in advance. * All other actvities do not require advance booking, but during high season it is advisable to make advance bookings. Cancellation Policy * For the overnight trip and the spit braai a 50% deposit is required on confirmation. * The overnight trip & spit braai need to be cancelled at least 2 weeks in advance. * For the overnight trip & spit braai the following cancellation applies
Quad biking * The minimum age for a child sharing a bike with a parent is at parent's discretion. * The minimum age for a child using an own quad bike is 12 years of age. Parental consent is required before a child is allowed an own quad bike. * There are several children sized quad bikes & a child track available * Children sharing a bike with a parent: no charge * Children using own quad bike pay full rate Sandboarding * The minimum age for a child doing lying sandboarding is at parent's discretion. * The minimum age for a child doing standing sandboarding is 14 years of age.
